SSgt Forrest Sibley
21st STS (KIA 2015)A Combat Controller with the 21st Special Tactics Squadron, SSgt Sibley was killed in action alongside Capt Roland in 2015. He was a four-time Bronze Star recipient, awarded the Bronze Star with Valor for controlling 60 aircraft during a three-day battle in 2012. SSgt Sibley was riding in the vehicle commanded by Capt Matthew Roland when it was ambushed by an insider threat at an Afghan checkpoint. Despite the sudden and overwhelming attack, he and his team reacted instantly to the threat. A seasoned controller, SSgt Sibley had previously distinguished himself in numerous firefights, known for his calm demeanor while orchestrating massive amounts of airpower to protect his Special Forces counterparts. He gave his life in service of his country alongside his commander.
